
More than 2,000 trail running enthusiasts from home and abroad gathered in Suzhou’s Changshu City on Sept. 21 to compete in the 2025 Yushan Challenge Trail.
Held at the Shanghu Lake Scenic Area, the event offered participants an exceptional experience that combined sport and nature. It featured three categories of competition –20km run, 35km run, and 50km run, with a cumulative elevation gain of 1,100 meters, 2,000 meters, and 2,900 meters, respectively. The course took runners through some of the most scenic trails on the Yushan Hill in the Shanghu Lake Scenic Area.
Located in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta, Changshu has abundant mountain and water resources and profound cultural heritage. The city has been making great efforts to promote the development of outdoor sports such as mountain hiking, water sports, and cycling. In recent years, it has held a rich variety of sports events such as triathlons and dragon boat races.
