
The 2025 ACC Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Asia Cup Marathon & the International SUP Open & the National SUP U Series (Suzhou) kicked off on Sept. 19 at the Pingmen section of the ancient city moat of Suzhou. Hosted by the Asian Canoe Confederation (ACC), this Class-A international SUP competition has attracted 573 paddleboarders from 18 countries and regions including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Thailand.
This year’s competition features three categories: the Asia Cup Marathon, the International SUP Open, and the National SUP U Series, which covers a range of events such as the 16-kilometer ancient moat marathon, the 8-kilometer endurance race, and the 200-meter sprint race. The age range for participants is from 8 to 65 years old.
Suzhou hosted the China SUP Elite Race, a national three-star water sports event, in 2023 and the National SUP Championship, a national five-star water sports event, in 2024. And in 2025, it welcomes the Asian Cup, a top-tier international competition.
